Daniel Lindberg

August 17, 1937 — April 1, 2022

Daniel Robert Lindberg was born August 17, 1937 in Jamestown, New York. He was the first born of Alice Helena (Carlson) Lindberg and Gunnard Waldemar Lindberg, who later had two more sons, James and Jon.
Dan attended school in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1955. He was proud to have helped his father and their church build a Christian children's camp called Camp Li Lo Li in the Allegheny foothills, near Randolph, New York, which still exists today.

After graduation he worked as a welders helper at Hope's Windows in Jamestown then moved to Oak Park, Illinois to attend Emmaus Bible College. His younger brothers later joined him there and in 1959-60, all three Lindberg boys attended at the same time. After finishing 3 years of Bible college, Dan moved back to Jamestown and worked at Monitor Furniture which specialized in making Colonial American furniture created with solid hardwood. In 1962 Dan and his brother Jon went on a road trip out west with friends and Dan ended up staying in Whittier, California.

Dan was hired at Boise Cascade Stationers in Compton, where he worked his way up to buyer. There he met his friend Tracy Dartt. Dan met his wife Miriam Ruth Snider through his friendship with Tracy, who was married to Miriam's sister Sharon. Daniel and Miriam were married on August 2, 1969 and lived in Whittier. They later had two children, Barbara and Thomas. After 15 years working at Boise, Miriam's father, Stone Snider, approached Dan about using his experience to go into business together with him making sauces and seasonings in City of Industry, California. Together they each used their strengths along with the help of their faithful employees, to build and grow Lindberg-Snider Company, which Dan owned for over 45 years.

One of Dan's favorite pastimes was being out on his boat. He loved to take people out on the boat and he especially loved taking people to Catalina Island for day trips. Dan's life was committed to God in study of the Bible, prayer and fellowship with his church family. He was one of the longest members of Puente Valley Fellowship for almost 60 years. Daniel Robert Lindberg was 84 years old when he passed into heaven on April 1, 2022, exactly one year after he sold his business, Lindberg-Snider Company. He died in Whittier, California.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Miriam, brothers Jim (Emma Jean) Lindberg and Jon (Becky) Lindberg, daughter Barbara (Ted) Neinast, son Thomas (Deborah) Lindberg, and his 5 grandchildren, Sinéad, Lucille, Eliot, Edith and Kieran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Gunnard Lindberg.
