Akashy Techagaiciyawanis

January 10, 1949 — March 7, 2022

Akashy "Rick" Techagaiciyawanis passed away peacefully on March 7, 2022 due to declining health and
complications associated with cancer.
Born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand he later moved to Los Angeles, California in the early 70s with his
wife. They lived in various parts of LA County while raising two children - son and daughter. He was a
bellman for the Holiday Inn in Brentwood, CA. Conveniently, his wife was a cashier at the hotel's gift
shop. Interestingly, the couple first met each other previously in similar hotel jobs in Bangkok.

Rick worked hard to support his family in various professions that also included apartment manager,
wholesaler, and laboratory courier. He met his goals to become a homeowner and to put his children
through college. He was very proud of seeing to it that they grew up to hold respectable professions in
public health and nursing.

Rick was an avid golfer and would take his kids out to the local golf ranges to practice hitting and
putting. He participated in several local tournaments and came away with trophies he was so very
proud of. He loved to sing and would oftentimes go to karaoke with friends on his vacation trips to
Thailand. He also loved family trips out to Las Vegas, the Bay Area and Pacific Northwest.

Rick is forever loved by immediate and in‐law families. This includes a granddaughter and grandson who
both miss him very much. We all miss him.
