Cleatus Boyd Eddy

December 30, 1933 — October 28, 2019

Cleatus Boyd Eddy age 85 of Whittier passed away peacefully October 28, 2019. Born 1933 in Ottumwa, Iowa, Cleatus spent his childhood years helping in his parents restaurants in Missouri, fishing and generally making mischief. The family moved to California and Cleat played trombone for the award-winning Whittier High School Band, graduating in 1951. He continued playing in the United States Air Force Bands from 1952-1956 while stationed in Guam during the Korean War.

He will be remembered as a music-loving wild boy who delivered the mail rain or shine for thirty years in South Whittier and Friendly Hills. Upon retirement, Cleatus split his time between family in Whittier and solitary sojourns to his beloved desert, fishing, hiking and rearranging the rocks.

Cleatus is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years Anita Eddy, daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Kevin Morgan, daughter and son-in-law June and Jay Summers, grandson Skylar Morgan, sister Shirley Feemster, nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.

The family welcomes friends on Monday November 4th to an 11:00 am service at White Emerson Mortuary Chapel 13304 Philadelphia St. Whittier. Memorial gifts may be sent to Hillcrest Congregational Church, 2000 West Road, La Habra Heights, CA 90631.
