Lewis Shouse

Lewis 'Jack' Shouse was born June 30, 1922 in Malaki, New Mexico to Eddie Elmer and Devie Ovie (Black) Shouse. He passed away on April 10, 2011 in Whittier, California.Jack grew up and attended school in Whittier and then proudly served our country in the United States Army and was stationed at Camp Roberts.On September 26, 1943 he married Arlene Quiram in Yuma, Arizona. Jack's occupations included being a truck driver, soft water installer and plumber, serving the greater Whittier area.His hobbies included fixing TV's, CB radios, working around the house and yard, collecting stamps, business cards, coins and traveling.Jack was a Cub Scout Leader for many years and a member of the Assemblies of God Church.Mr. Shouse is survived by his daughter, Carol Ann Shouse; son, Lewis Paul Shouse; brother Doyle Elwane Shouse; seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.Viewing will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 E Philadelphia Street, Whittier, California. A graveside service will follow on Friday, April 15, 2011, at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Gate 10.
