Esther Rita Chaidez

Esther Rita Chaidez was born November 15, 1919 in Mesa, Arizona to Juan and Virginia (Pena) Dominguez. She passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at her home in La Mirada, California.Esther grew up and went to school in Sacramento, California and later went on to Rio Hondo College in Whittier. She married Richard William Hite, and to that union came her daughters, Gloria Jean and Esther Rita; and son, William Jess. Their marriage ended in divorce, and Esther married Jose Baltierra. After a divorce from Jose, she married Rosario Chaidez. They had only a short time together before his death. In her later years, Esther and Jose reunited as dear friends and companions.Esther is survived by her daughters, Gloria Jean Tellez and Esther Rita Hite; her son, William Jess Hite; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and one more on the way.Esther loved to dance, take trips, and she liked to try new places to eat. She was a long-time member of St. Augustine Church.A viewing will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 E. Philadelphia St., Whittier, CA, and the rosary will be led at 7:00 p.m. A Catholic Prayer Service will follow on Wednesday morning, May 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., also at White Emerson.
