Selma Annamarie Weimholt was born February 21, 1917 in Linn, Missouri and passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at her home in Montebello. Selma was a longtime resident of Montebello and very active in Catholic charities. As a charter member of Catholic Daughters of America at St. Benedict's, she remained very involved throughout her life.A Vigil Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21st at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 E. Phildadelphia St., Whittier. , C. Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22nd at St. Benedict's Church, 1022 W. Cleveland Ave., Montebello, with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Selma is survived by five sons, William (Julie), John (Donna), Wayne, James (Tami), and Anthony (Yvonne) Weimholt; daughter, Ann (Melvin) Van Ness; sisters, Nellie Mertensmeyer, Mary Roth, and BillieAnn Drehle; brothers, Nelson and Joe Backes; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Weimholt; son, Ronald Weimholt; and brother, Arthur Backes.Condolences may be sent to the family by selecting Guestbook from the menu above.
