Virginia H Mueller

September 14, 1916 — September 10, 2011

Virginia H. Mueller was born on September 14, 1916 in St. Louis, Missouri where she spent most of her childhood. Virginia and her brother, Frederick, were very close and they shared many wonderful times together throughout their lives. Virginia cherished her time with Frederick, his wife, Edith, and her niece, Roberta, whom she thought of as a daughter. She traveled extensively and lived in many places around the world. Virginia made friends wherever she went and she was always looking for a 'story', which she loved to tell through her writing, or by sharing it with her friends and family. One of her great passions was volunteering, which she did for many years at Glendale Memorial Hospital. She and her friend, Jean, were responsible for establishing a thrift store called 'Next to New' to help the hospital raise money for needed treatments and research. Virginia also loved talking with patients and she wanted to provide hope for them and their families. She was a very spiritual person and she provided a great deal of comfort to many people with her warm smile and positive spirit. On May 28, 1977, Virginia married Bob Mueller at Hollywood Presbyterian Church. They shared much of their married life together in Northern California with their two beloved poodles. They enjoyed traveling, experiencing new adventures, and spending time with their beloved friends. They returned to Southern California 14 years ago to be closer to some of their family. Shortly thereafter, Virginia's life became altered due to her diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. She is survived by her son, Philip, his wife, Janie, their daughters, Jenny and Allyson, her son, Stephen, her daughter, Sue, her husband, Ken, their sons, David and Greg, their wives, Terrah and Brigida, her daughter, Jill, her husband, Bob, their daughter, Meggie, and son, Jon, her daughter, Jean, and her children, Tracey, Ryan, Cory and Amber, Tracey's son, Zach, her niece, Roberta, her husband, Ron, their children, Dirk and Amanda, her cousin, Janet, her husband, Clive, and her aunt, Grace. Virginia embraced life fully and we hope that, today, when you remember her, you will feel in your hearts some of the joy she brought to you during her life here on earth. We are very grateful for your thoughts and prayers and may she rest in peace.
