Celebrating the Life of Steve Martinez Aguilar
October 9, 1959 – April 19, 2026
Steve Martinez Aguilar, a man of faith, generosity, and love for his community, went home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2026. Born in California on October 9, 1959, to Rudy Cota Aguilar and Jennie Martinez, Steve lived a life defined by service, friendship, and the joy of simple pleasures.
Steve was known by many as a man who would give the shirt off his back to a stranger. His heart truly belonged to the people around him, particularly the youth and the elderly. As a mentor, he provided guidance and a steady hand to young people navigating life’s challenges. Within his church community, he was a pillar of strength and a faithful servant. Later in life, Steve felt a powerful calling to the Lord Jesus Christ, and he dedicated his remaining years to living out his faith with devotion and grace.
When he wasn’t serving his community, Steve could often be found reading scripture and enjoying his favorite sport in front of a screen. He cherished the camaraderie of camping trips with his neighborhood friends, finding peace in the outdoors. A die-hard sports fan through and through, Steve lived for the thrill of the game—forever loyal to the Los Angeles Dodgers and his beloved Raiders.
More than anything, Steve was a family man. He was deeply loved by his relatives, who will remember him for his kindness, his mentorship, and his unwavering spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of "giving whatever he could to anyone," a lesson in selflessness that will live on through the many lives he touched.
Steve Martinez Aguilar has finished his race and remained faithful to the end. While he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is now resting in the arms of his Savior.
