It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Roy Ivie, a beloved resident of La Mirada, who departed this world on December 8, 2023, at the age of 66.

 

Born on May 5, 1957, Roy led a life that embraced adventure, exploration, and the joy of connecting with others. His vibrant spirit touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

 

Roy was a seasoned traveler; his journeys took him to the enchanting landscapes of Africa and the captivating allure of Thailand. Roy had stories of these adventures that were filled with passion and enthusiasm. Roy proudly served in the Marine Corps telling stories of his time spent there.

Professionally, Roy worked as a plumber, His personality shined, earning him the respect of colleagues. Beyond his plumbing expertise, Roy also spent time working in the picturesque islands of Hawaii, further broadening his life experiences.

 

Roy’s zest for life extended to his hobbies, and he took immense pleasure in detailing cars to perfection. His meticulous attention to every inch of vehicle reflected his commitment to excellence and he took provide in transforming each car into a work of art. Known as the life of the party, Roy was a magnetic presence wherever he went. With an infectious sense of humor and innate ability to make everyone feel welcome, he never met a stranger. Roy’s warmth and openness impact on those fortunate enough to share in his company. His quick wit and endless jokes and stories entertained everyone he ever met. Everybody has their own Roy story, and everyone’s story is different.

 One of Roy’s greatest sources of joy was his cherished scooter, of which he was incredibly proud. Whether zipping through the street of La Mirada or embarking on a scenic ride, Roy found solace and happiness in the freedom his scooter provided.

 

He is survived by his loving mother Lorraine, whose heart now bears the weight of a profound loss. Roy also leaves behind a sister Dorothy and brother Greg, who will forever cherish the memories of growing up alongside this spirited and caring soul. In their grief, they find solace in the knowledge and jovial spirit. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Roy Ivie leaves behind a legacy of laugher, adventure, and genuine connections. A memorial service to celebrate Roy’s life will be held on Jan 16, 2023 at 9:30am. At White Emerson Mortuary 13304 E. Philadelphia St. Whittier, CA 90601. May he rest in eternal peace
