Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Pete (Delbert) Davis
Pete was born on December 28, 1941 in Los Angeles, CA and passed away peacefully at home in Whittier, CA on December 9, 2025.
Pete is survived by his wife Elaine (Pook), the love of his life for 64 years; his sister’s Sammi and Molly, Brother Denny and his wife, Janie; Daughter Kathy and Favorite son in law, Frank; Son Jerry and Daughter in law Denise, Daughters Kelly and Kristy. Pete had six (6) grandchildren, including Michael (Erin), Derek (Shelley), Ashley (Matthew) and Samantha (Cody) and seven (7) great grandchildren, including Parker, Greyson, Colton and Harper, niece Rhonda along with other nieces and nephews.
Pete graduated from Bell Gardens High School in 1960. He played JV Football, but was unable to finish the season due to the health issues he dealt with his entire life. Pete was the play by play announcer for the Varsity Football Team home games. After high school Pete attended LA Trade Tech, specializing in mechanics. Pete also took a few classes at his beloved University of Southern California. Pete met Elaine at a roller skating rink when she was 17 and still in High School and he was 19. They were married on June 23, 1962, in Las Vegas…they eloped!
During his life, Pete owned multiple businesses but always reverted back to the mechanical side of things.
Pete loved Jesus, Pook, family and friends (especially his grandkids and great grandkids), USC Football, golfing, fishing, Derweiner polish dogs and chili dogs, Douglas chili tamales, square burgers from Wendys, Redman chewing tobacco, talking, storytelling and talking some more.
A Loving Presence
Pete was a source of strength and warmth to all who knew him. Pete’s kindness knew no bounds, and his generosity extended far beyond what words can express. Whether through a comforting word, a helping hand or praying for you, Pete made each of us feel valued and supported.
Memories to Cherish
We remember the laughter that filled the rooms, the stories that brought us together, and the wisdom Pete shared throughout the years. Pete’s passion for life inspired those around him to pursue their dreams and embrace each day with gratitude. In moments of challenge, Pete stood as a pillar of hope, always encouraging us to keep moving forward.
Lasting Legacy
Though Pete is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the lessons he imparted, the love he gave, and the lives he touched. Let us carry forward Pete’s spirit in our own actions, honoring his memory by living with purpose, compassion, and courage.
