Patrick "Pat" James Laverty

Patrick “Pat” James Laverty died peacefully surrounded by family on 11/11/2023 in Brea, CA at the age of 68.

Pat is survived by his wife Vicki, children Patrick, Suzi, and Brian, sister Rae, his two grandchildren Zoe and Chloe, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pat was born on May 3, 1955 in Dumbarton, Scotland to Patrick and Sarah Laverty. He immigrated to America when he was nine years old. He attended Ferris State University in the 70’s with training in nuclear medicine.  He married Vicki in 1987.  He started his company Modern Nuclear in 1988. Over the next three years the couple welcomed three children into their home. 

His children remember him as a determined, generous, and loving father who supported them unconditionally.

Pat was passionate about music. He often spent free hours writing song lyrics and playing guitar. He was an active member of St. Angela Merici church for as long as he was able, volunteered with Boy Scout troop 811, and participated with the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid sports fan who never missed a season without going to a game for the Angels, Lakers, or Rams.
