Patricia "Pat" Ellen Zinn, 96, passed away peacefully at her home in Fullerton on June 15, 2021. Born on March 16, 1925 in Whittier, Pat was the daughter to Albert & Winifred (Andrews) Knight. She was married to Richard Zinn on January 20, 1945, and they were married for 68 years until Richard's passing in 2013. She was an incredibly loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed deeply by all who knew her.
Pat was a true Whittier native. She attended Lincoln Elementary School & John Muir Junior High School before graduating as a Cardinal from Whittier High School. Her family owned Knight's Flower Shop in Whittier and Pat would help her parents out with fulfilling flower orders as she grew up. It was shortly after high school that she was married to Richard Zinn at the First United Methodist Church. As a couple, they settled in their home town of Whittier to start a family and raise their children, ultimately moving to Pat's dream home in La Habra. They were there for many years, until they re-located to Morningside Independent Senior Living Community in 2011. Pat was a wonderful homemaker - caring for all the details of her family's affairs with love and diligence. She loved cooking and hosting family gatherings. Being together with family gave her much joy. She also loved being in the outdoors. She loved taking to the golf course as well as going to the beach at Balboa Island. And when she needed her spirits lifted, she would just play Big Band Music and dance to her heart's delight. A very social woman, Pat was active with her friends at the East Whittier Women's Club.
Pat is preceded in death by her husband; Richard (2013), her daughter; Pamela Mauss (2018); and her sister; Dorothea Hargrave. She is survived by her son; Michael "Mike" (Teri) Zinn, her son-in-law; Gary Mauss, her grandchildren, Missy Oddo, Tracey Mauss, Jeff Mauss, Ryan Zinn, Brett Zinn, Trent Zinn, and Trevor Zinn, her great-grandchildren; Nicholas Oddo, Zachary Oddo, Aaron Oddo, Tona Zinn, Lukas Zinn, Lily Zinn, Itzel Zinn, Vieux Zinn, Emilee Zinn and Josephine Zinn, and her sister; Mary Rich.
