Mildred Graybill

December 8, 1923 — December 30, 2020

Mildred (Millie) Pearl Graybill was born Dec. 8, 1923, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and passed away on Dec. 30, 2020, in Whittier, California, at the amazing age of 97.

She lived in Whittier for the last 74 years and attended Whittier High School in her youth. She met her husband, John F. Graybill ("Jack" who passed away on Oct. 7, 1986), during a visit back to Minnesota and married him soon after on Nov. 30, 1946, at St. Mary's, in Whittier. They had a wonderful life together and had four children.

Millie was a very caring, strong, and genuine person who worked hard. She walked her belief in God every day and was a parishioner at St. Mary's for over 70 years! She had a glass half-full perspective, was a problem-solver, listener, helper and was full of humor and grit. She was amazingly independent and took charge over all aspects and decisions of her life. She loved to play bridge and held the rank of a Silver Life Master with 1,022.43 points. She was a long-time Dodgers fan with season tickets and enjoyed traveling abroad with groups all over the world after 1986. Most of all, she adored her family, friends and neighbors and always placed them first due to her love and value of relationships. She will be forever remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Millie is survived by her children, Michael Graybill, Patti (Graybill) Down and spouse, Dave, John Graybill and spouse, Gale, and Susie (Graybill) Yates and spouse, Grant, her 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Memorial Service took place on January 16th, at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, officiated by Fr. Paul Coury of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Larry Greenfield, a beautiful violinist and was coordinated by White-Emerson Mortuary. She will be forever missed and always in our hearts.
