Michael Roche

Michael "Mike" O'Hara Roche, 77, of Whittier, California, passed away in Hospice Care on September 15, 2025.

Michael was born on January 8, 1948 in Everett, Washington. Mike was the son of Theodore and Virginia Roche. He graduated from Don Bosco Tech. He proudly served and retired from the United States Marine Corps. Mike married Joan Orlando in 1970, and together they raised one daughter, Amy. He was the owner of Michael Roche Painting and was a licensed painting contractor in Whittier for nearly 50 years.

Mike was known for his warm heart, infectious laugh, and the way he made everyone feel at home. A 45 year member of the Whittier Elks Lodge 1258, he served three terms as the Lodge's president and loved volunteering to serve our nation's veterans. His kindness and volunteer spirit touched countless lives.

Mike is survived by his wife, Joan Orlando Roche, daughter Amy Roche Boteilho, son-in-law Eric Boteilho, of Whittier. Sisters Isabel Roche, and Kelli Roche of Roseville. Maureen Roche of Laguna Woods. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. he was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Patrick Roche.
