Maria L. Tapia

January 29, 1936 — August 4, 2023

Maria Luisa Tapia, a beloved sister, mother, caregiver, and church member, passed away peacefully at her home in Norwalk on August 4, 2023. She was 87 years old.

Maria was born on January 29, 1936, in Leon, Guanajuato Mexico to her loving parents Maria Ursula Rodriguez and Jacinto Alcala. She grew up in Mexico and developed a passion for photography. During her time in Leon Gto., she worked as a skilled Photoshop technician, dedicating eight years to developing photos with precision and artistry.

In search of new opportunities, Maria immigrated to California where she continued to make a positive impact on those around her. She forged a successful career at "Phillip" the same company as her husband.  She served as a supervisor for twelve years until they closed down. The dedication she showed to her work was just one example of her strong work ethic and determination.

While Maria took pride in her professional accomplishments, she found true fulfillment in caring for others. As a caregiver during the later years of her working life, Maria selflessly devoted herself to looking after those who needed assistance. Her kind-hearted nature brought comfort and peace to those under her care.

Outside of work, Maria's interests were varied and richly enjoyed. She found immense pleasure in cooking delicious meals that delighted family and friends alike. Her dancing skills were enviable as she effortlessly moved across the dance floor with grace and joy. A shopping enthusiast, Maria never missed an opportunity to explore the latest trends and bring home treasures that reflected her vibrant personality. And though she loved adventures to new places near and far, Maria found solace and fulfillment within the walls of her cherished church where she worshipped faithfully for many years.

Family meant everything to Maria Luisa Tapia, and she leaves behind cherished memories for all who survive her. She is survived by her sister Felipa Infante; brother Rito Infante; sister Teresa Ramirez; brother Federico Ramirez; sister Evangelina Alcala; son Chuy; daughter Lourdes; daughter Juana; son Gerardo, daughter Ceci; daughter Lucy; daughter Sandra and daughter Ruth. Maria's love and care will forever be a treasured part of their lives.
