Lena L. 'Lucky' Torres was born February 9, 1934 in Los Angeles, California to Jobe and Magdalena Logan. She grew up and went to school in the Old Chinatown area of Los Angeles, and remained in Los Angeles County her entire life. She passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in Whittier, California.In 1951, Lena married Adolph R. Morales, and they had three children, David, Gilbert and Cynthia. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1959. Lena got remarried in 1961 to Ted Torres, and they were blessed with two more children, Ted and Elizabeth.Lena is survived by her sons, David Logan Morales, Gilbert Logan Morales, and Ted Logan Torres; daughters, Cynthia Letha Ann Herrera and Elizabeth 'Lidy' Caldera; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild in 2008.Though Lucky never left the Los Angeles area, she moved around a lot! With 5 children, she put herself through vocational school for nursing. She became a Licensed Vocational Nurse and enjoyed her career for 35 years. She took great pride in her work. Lena also started a janitorial service, DJ & L's, in 1980, and it is still running today. Lucky's greatest love and interest was her family. She took care of all her grandchildren and always talked of buying a big farm where they could all live together.A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Whittier Area Community Church, 8175 Villaverde Dr., Whittier, CA 90605.
