Laura Perez Janairo, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 9, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on December 31, 1953, Laura spent most of her adult life in Norwalk, California. However, she also ventured to Ohio and Virginia in the 1980s before returning to her beloved home state. Laura was a passionate learner who dedicated herself to self-improvement. She held various blue-collar jobs but later decided to pursue education through ROP programs to expand her skill set.
Laura's eagerness for growth led her to attend Manuel Gutierrez Najera Esuela Primaria and later enroll in secretarial school for two years. Even in her later years, Laura continued to embrace education by attending ROP school.
While Laura's professional life was important to her, it is through her relationships that she flourished. She found joy in spending time with family and friends. One of the greatest joys in Laura's life was caring for her beloved grandson Shinji. Their bond was filled with laughter, love, and cherished moments.
Outside of her family life, Laura had a wide range of hobbies and interests that brought her great satisfaction. She had a deep appreciation for music from the 60s and 70s and could often be found humming along to nostalgic tunes. Horror films captivated her imagination while Novelas provided an escape into captivating stories. Additionally, Laura enjoyed tending to plants as she found solace in nature's beauty. Playing dominoes brought out her competitive spirit and provided hours of entertainment.
Laura's warm and compassionate nature touched the lives of many, and her passing leaves a void that can never be filled. She is survived by her loving children, Brian Janairo and Brenda Janairo, and her cherished grandson Shinji Janairo. Laura also leaves behind her sisters Yolanda Lopez and Graciela Garcia, as well as her brothers Arturo Lara, Casimiro Lara, and Luis Lara. She will be dearly missed by all her surviving family members and friends.
Services to honor Laura's life will take place on December 16, 2023. The Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Whittier, California, starting at 12:00 PM. Following the Mass, a viewing will be held from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM at White Emerson Mortuary located at 13304 Philadelphia St in Whittier.
Laura Perez Janairo was a remarkable individual whose kindness and love left an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her as they continue to celebrate a life filled with compassion, joy, and resilience.
