Jose Luis Hernandez left us on August 6, 2025. He passed away at home with his wife, daughter and grandchildren by his side. Jose Luis was born on November 24,1949 in Colima, Mexico to Sebastian and Elena Hernandez . Jose Luis was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He served this country he loved so dearly in the Army. He was a paratrooper for the 101st Screaming Eagles. He loved all his brothers and sisters in arms. He had so many stories and he would tell anyone who would take the time to listen. He loved taking his family to ceremonies that had to do with the fallen soldiers. His children learned at a young age to be thankful and proud of the men and women that sacrificed it all for this country. Jose Luis was also a very proud and loyal Teamster. They would do so many wonderful things for the community. His favorite was the toy drive they would do for the children. Imagine seeing all these intimidating looking men get soft when they see the children smile and eyes light up because they got a new bike or a toy they wanted. It was beautiful. J o s e Luis was also a very proud and loyal Raider fan. Win or lose he cheered them on with all his heart. He also loved riding his motorcycle. You knew he was coming down the street because you would hear the motorcycle coming but you could also hear the music from his Green Beret CD blaring loudly and proudly. Jose Luis was a husband to his beautiful wife Alicia. They would have had their 55th Wedding Anniversary in September but God had other plans for him. He was a father to his son Ruben and his daughter Jeanelle. He was also a grandfather to his grandson Jared and granddaughter Cara. They were the light of his life. He had always wanted to be a grandfather and his daughter Jeanelle gave that to him. He was also a brother, brother-in-law, cousin and uncle to his family. He loved his family even if he didn't show it as much as he should have. He is well loved by them and will be missed. Jose Luis is survived by his wife Alicia, his daughter Jeanelle, his grandson Jared and his granddaughter Cara. He is also survived by his brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces.
