Jesse Galvan Garcia

December 25, 1936 — January 23, 2019

On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, Jesse G. Garcia, our loving brother and life partner to Christina Ramirez, passed away at age 82.

Jesse was born on December 25, 1936, in Los Angeles, to his father, Jesse, Sr., and his mother, Vera. He attended Brooklyn Avenue Elementary School, Belvedere Junior High School, and Garfield High School, all in Los Angeles. He worked in various industries throughout his life. The last employment was as a Warehouseman at a toy distribution plant. He never married, nor had children. However, he did help Christina take care of her grandson, Anthony. He loved them both very much.

As a young man, Jesse had a passion for playing the guitar and singing Mexican folk songs. He would often gather with some of his friends and play his guitar and sing at home. He was known for making his nieces and nephews laugh, and had a nickname for each of them. He loved to make potato salad and tacos for Christinas family who loved his cooking.
Jesse was preceded in death by his father, Jesse, Sr., his mother, Vera, his older brother, Bobby, and his younger brother Eddie. He is survived by his sister, Evelyn, his sister, Rose, his many nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
