**Obituary for James Robert Woodall**
**December 23, 1957 - August 21, 2025**
It is with a heavy heart yet a spirit of celebration that we announce the passing of James Robert Woodall, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who left this world peacefully from his home in Fullerton, California, on August 21, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on December 23, 1957, in Los Angeles, California, James proudly grew up in South El Monte, where he developed a lifelong love for his community, family, and friends.
James was a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona, earning his Bachelor's Degree before carving out a successful career as a Tax Consultant in the accounting industry. He was known for his expertise and dedication to his clients, but most importantly, he was cherished for his kind heart and uplifting spirit.
James was a man of many passions. He was an avid long-distance cyclist, once participating in fundraising events for Muscular Dystrophy. An enthusiastic San Francisco Giants fan, he explored 15 Major League ballparks and traveled to nearly every state in the U.S. (with just Hawaii and Alabama left to visit). His love of life was evident in everything he did-whether perfecting his famous chocolate cookies and pies, enjoying classic rock, or delighting in the timeless works of Ella Fitzgerald, Jim Reeves, and Dean Martin.
James had a special bond with animals, caring for numerous dogs throughout his life. A true enthusiast for classic cars, he poured his heart into restoring his cherished 1948 Willys Jeepster, which stood as a testament to his passion and dedication.
He met his beautiful wife, Gretchen Woodall, through mutual friends on a blind date, a serendipitous encounter that blossomed into a wonderful marriage filled with laughter, love, and adventure. Together, they shared a life rich with joyful memories.
James is survived by his loving wife, Gretchen Woodall, and their devoted son, Andrew Woodall. He will be deeply missed but will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor at the White Emerson Mortuary Pavilion on September 19, 2025, at 5:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to share stories, memories, and laughter in remembrance of his joyful life.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites contributions to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the American Cancer Society, reflecting James's spirit of giving and kindness. Let us all remember James Robert Woodall for his adventurous soul, unwavering love for family, and zest for life as we carry forward his legacy in our hearts.
James was preceded in death by his father Billy Clyde Woodall and mother Carol Lois Woodall.
