Irene Uribe was born the youngest of six children to Simon and Esther Uribe on January 14, 1959, in Los Angeles, California. She built her career working for Los Angeles Unified School District, from her beginning as a part-time school bus driver, to advancing as an area supervisor and culminating to a position as a dispatcher at the time of her retirement. In her later life she would go on to work in radio and study behavioral science with an emphasis on Psychology, Sociology and community revitalization. Her dream was to run a soup kitchen that would feed a community in need while sharing the true gospel of love for thy neighbor.
She is survived by her children, Rachelle, Andrea and Nicholas, her granddaughter Aaliyah (who she loves so much), and her grand-puppies, Hiro and Rocco.
Her enduring advocacy for the underdog was at the heart of her allyship and civil rights activism with the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities emphasizing black and brown alliance is a legacy her children are proud of and wish to carry on in her honor.
Among friends and family, she will be remembered for her deep wisdom, biting wit, generous heart, AMAZING cooking and of course her status as ARMY to KPop sensation BTS.
A celebration of life in loving memory of Irene will be held Friday, September 22, 2023 from 5-8pm at White Emerson Mortuary in Whittier, CA.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2Timothy 4:7-8
