Glen Valuet

Pastor Glen Valuet, a faithful servant of God, gifted musician, and devoted family man, entered into the arms of his Savior in the early morning of October 28, 2026, at the age of 75.

Born on May 19, 1951, Glen dedicated his life to sharing the love of Christ through ministry, education, and song. He was an amazing singer who possessed a rare and beautiful talent, and nothing brought him greater joy than using his musical gifts to praise the Lord and lead others into worship.

Throughout his years in ministry, Pastor V made a profound impact on everyone he encountered. As a passionate educator and spiritual mentor, he held a deep, enduring affection for his students from SCC, Brethren, and Calvary Chapel Downey, pouring into their young lives with wisdom, humor, and grace. He also brought an unforgettable energy to the campus community through his passion for sports; he absolutely loved being the Voice of the Grizzlies, spending countless hours in the announcer's booth bringing excitement to all of the football and basketball games. His warmth and leadership extended deeply to his cherished church families and congregations, where his spiritual guidance and fellowship left a lasting mark on the community.

Above all, Glen was a loving and devoted family man. He lived his life grounded in Scripture, and his favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 26:3: "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You."

Glen is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; his daughters, Melody and Harmony, who carry forward his legacy of music and praise; his five grandchildren; and his sister, Linda. He will be deeply missed by his family, his former students, his congregations, the athletes he cheered on, and the countless lives he touched with his ministry and song.

The family will be holding a celebration of life in June to celebrate a life well lived.
