Geraldine Marie Childers

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Geraldine “Geri” Marie (Marks) Childers, who unexpectedly passed away on June 4, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on June 1, 1958, in Brooklyn, NY, she was recognized for her vibrant personality and distinctive style. Her unexpected passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit will forever remain in the lives she touched.

Geri was predeceased by her biological mother Yolanda LaGrasta, brother-in-law Thomas DiMatteo, mother Ida Baldo and father John Baldo. She is survived by her daughter Rachel and her husband Kevin Sr., her son Christopher and his wife Samantha. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren (Kevin Jr., Victoria, Isaiah, Brookelyn, Jacob). She is also survived by her siblings: Elizabeth Perulli and and husband Larry, Lynn DiMatteo, Sandra O’Reilly, her brother John Baldo and wife Diane, Diane DeMuth and husband Nick who will forever hold a special place in their hearts for her.

Geri had an exuberant zest for life, evident in her love for all things sparkling and glamorous. She embraced the finer things, always adding a touch of pizzazz to everything she did. A true connoisseur of fashion and style, she was rarely seen without her hair and makeup meticulously done and her trademark long red nails – a true Geri signature.

Her New Yorker accent was as distinctive as her vibrant personality, and her colorful stories of her hometown never disappointed. Her love for Italian food, especially linguine and clams, a Sabrett “dirty dog” and pretzel from the streets of NYC, Carvel ice cream and Drake’s desserts will forever be a fond memory for many of us! She adored disco, with Donna Summer and Diana Ross at the top of her list. She found solace in the drama of soap operas. Her passion for dance, television series, retail therapy, and beach resort vacations offered her moments of relaxation and joy.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 22, 2026, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 Philadelphia St., Whittier, CA 90601. Visitation is from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m., followed by the service from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Repast will take place at Mission Square Italian Restaurant, 13033 Penn St., Whittier, CA 90602.
