Garry Lloyd Kintz was born May 17, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Clifford Otto and Martha Ann (Kopan) Kintz. He grew up in Wisconsin. When he was 11 a tragedy happened, his mom died in a car accident and his dad was seriously injured. He lived with his grandparents for a couple of years while his dad healed. In 1941 his dad married Hazel Mae Jones and a girl and two boys were added to the family.He graduated from Hillsborough High school. The family moved to CA where he attended Fresno State and studied accounting. After graduation his work took him to Salt Lake City Utah where he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He then moved back to Wisconsin and eventually Michigan. While attending church there he spent time with a young woman Darlene Ann Tobias. Garry, asked Darlene out on a date. She really admired his commitment to the gospel and his dedication to member missionary work. After dating for about 6 months, they were married on April 28, 1956, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In June of 1957, they traveled with their 3 month old daughter, Laura, to California. They made an important stop along the way in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were sealed to each other and to their daughter in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on June 17, 1957. Arriving in Whittier, California, they rented a home near Cal High. Their next two children, Martha and Clif, were born there. In 1960, they moved into their present home, where their last 2 children, Lyle and Gail, joined their family. Garry loved his family first and foremost but secondly he loved the Gospel. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was especially happy when serving others. Serving in the Primary as a teacher made many fond memories. He especially loved helping others learn about the church.Garry worked hard in business in the areas of accounting, records management and problem solving. He enjoyed training and managing people. His priority was always to provide for his family. Garry will be remembered for his loving nature. He was sweet, kind and caring to all, and he always had a smile on his face. Garry is survived by his sister, Nola ( Norman) Nielsen his brothers William (Chris ) Kintz, Roy (Elisa) Kintz and his children and their families as follows: * Daughter, Laura (Michael) Crays; granddaughter, Erica Crays; and granddaughter, Jackie (Kyle) Wright with great-grandchildren, Lorenzo, Jade, Brody, Hudson and Josie. * Son in law, Alan Brown; granddaughter, April (Joey) Clary with great-grandchildren, Zhane, Zhana, Guy, Jessi and Peyton, and great great granddaughter, Nena Ann; grandson, Adam Brown with great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Sadie, Benjamin; granddaughter, Anna (Luke) Finnerty with great-grandchildren, Faith, Olivia, Adeline and Ezra ; and granddaughter, Amy Brown *Son, Clif Kintz; and granddaughters, Danielle Kintz and Valerie Kintz *Son, Lyle (Pamela) Kintz; granddaughter, Sara (Charles) Haugen with great-grandchildren, Isaac, Jake and Xavier; granddaughter, Ashley Kintz; and grandson, Charles (Collin Lindhorst) Kintz with great-grandchildren, Jon and Madison. *Daughter, Gail Kintz; and grandson, Nathan Perry.
