Eleanor Dolly Ramirez

Eleanor Dolly Ramirez was born August 27, 1933, in San Bernardino, California, to Felix and Frances (Contreras) Calleros. She passed away on December 7, 2018, at her home in Pico Rivera, California, at the age of 85.

Dolly, as she was known, grew up and went to school in San Bernardino, graduating from San Bernardino High School. She went to work as a typist at Norton Air Force Base and enjoyed her job.

On October 26, 1958, Dolly married the love of her life, Joe J. Ramirez, in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. Dolly gave up her career as they settled in East Los Angeles, California, and started their family. Dolly and Joe were blessed with four children, Jeanne and Jeanette (twins), Joe Jr., and Ana Maria. In 1979 the family moved to Pico Rivera, California, where they enjoyed a wonderful life together until Joes passing earlier this year.

Family always came first for Dolly. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed dancing, shopping, listening to Mexican music, and working word search and crossword puzzles.

Dolly is survived by her children, Jeanne (Ronnie Anguiano) Ramirez-Anguiano, Jeanette (Nick Sr.) Guerrero, Joe Ramirez, Jr., and Ana Maria (Jimmy Sr.) Flores; her siblings, Jimmy Calleros, Dora Rodriguez, and MaryAnn Chavez; grandchildren, Nick Guerrero, Stephanie Guerrero, Andrew Anguiano, and Jimmy Flores, Jr.; and her great-grandson, Aaron Ibarra.

Viewing will take place from 5-7pm on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, with a Vigil Service to follow at 7pm, at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 Philadelphia St., Whittier, California. A Catholic Service will begin at 11am the next morning, Tuesday, December 18, 2018, also at White Emerson Mortuary. Interment will immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Rosemead, California.
