It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Douglas Daley, known as Doug to many. He passed away on June 14, 2023, leaving behind a legacy in his career and personal life that will not soon be forgotten.
Born on September 24, 1958, in Hollywood, California; Doug spent his childhood in La Mirada and his teen and young adult years in Diamond Bar. After graduating from Walnut High School, he achieved further education at the University of Redlands and earned his master’s in public administration from National University.
Doug served with distinction as a Deputy Sheriff for over 27 years with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. He made his mark during his service and was respected by his fellow officers and the community that he served.
Doug had many passions outside of work as well. He enjoyed baseball, traveling, and being with friends and family—he especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Doug married the love of his life Cynthia (Shook) on March 19th, 1982, and they shared 41 years together filled with love for the Lord and each other. He was very passionate about spreading the word of Jesus Christ. He lived every day guided by the principles of the Bible and in service to others
Doug's Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, July 7th at Calvary Chapel Chino Hills starting at 10:00 AM at 4201 Eucalyptus Avenue, Chino, CA 91710.
He is survived by Cynthia Daley (Wife); Jana [Nathan] Smith, Chad [Rebekah] Daley, and Megan Daley (Children); Hannah Smith, Liam Daley, and Colton Daley (Grandchildren); Ronald Daley (Father); Rhonda [David] Harrell (Sister & Brother-in-Law).
Doug's passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of all those who knew him. As we celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man, we are confident in knowing that Doug is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
