Donna Hill

Helendale

Donna Hill, age 93, passed away in the early hours of Monday, February 26, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 25th, 1930, in Ogden, Utah at 4:45 AM, she was the beloved daughter of Macel Leon Stone and Thomas Clyde Montgomery. Donna was one of six siblings, including Joyce Smith (in memory), Fay Mealy, Shanna Leavett, Jay Clyde Montgomery, and David Stone Montgomery.

Growing up on a farm, Donna cherished countless fond memories of playing in the ditches and fields. Her upbringing instilled in her a deep appreciation for family and simple joys. She often reminisced about those carefree days with a twinkle in her eye. One of her last shared memories was running through the fields.

Donna's journey led her to California, where she met the love of her life, Calvin Keith Hill. Their union blossomed into a beautiful marriage that spanned 54 years. Together, they built a loving family, blessed with four children: Kevin Hill, Chris Hill, Connie Sanjurjo, and Karen Hill (in memory).

Donna also welcomed eight grandchildren (Alexander, Rachel, Lyann, Kysti, Matthew, Emily, Joshua, and Adam) and 11 great-grandchildren (Dajanair, Bryler, Wesley, Peyton, Remington, Troy, Jax, Claire, Sunny, Nash, and Ivy) into her life, with two more on the way (Roland and Rome).

Donna cherished her family above all else, and wrote the following words, "Family means everything to me. Family is so special and cannot be replaced. Without family, you would be lost."

An artist at heart, Donna found joy in arts and crafts, a passion she inherited from her mother. She had a keen intellect and was an avid reader. Additionally, she adored the thrill of antique shopping and the simple pleasure of finding a beautiful rock. Donna's home was a haven for friends and family, with many finding solace under her roof over the years.

Described as the kindest and gentlest soul, Donna was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She shared a special bond with her grandchildren, often spending hours with them working on homework, crafting, playing games, watching movies, and engaging in heartfelt conversations, much like she did with her own mother and grandmother.

Donna Hill's legacy is one of love, kindness, and unwavering generosity. She leaves behind a multitude of cherished memories and a profound impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Though she may have left this world, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her dearly.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
