It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Diana Sosa, age 80, of Whittier, California, who departed from this life on Sunday May 4, 2025.
Diana Sosa was born on December 14, 1944 in Manhattan, New York, to Charles and Jean Winters. She was raised by her grandmother with the assistance of her aunt Mimi and uncle Ernie Horoshak. She was raised with her cousins, Rosanne and Ernie. In 1972, Diana bravely moved to California as a single mother, determined to build a better life for her family. She went on to become a caring wife, devoted mother, and nurturing grandmother and great-grandmother.
For six relentless years, Diana fought with the strength and tenacity of a warrior against lung cancer.
Diana is survived by her loving husband of over 30 years, Raymond Sosa; her three daughters Teri (Lou), Sandy (Richard), and Chrissie (Frank); her seven grandchildren: Nicole (Summee), Brittany (Dave), Matthew, Amanda (Jamie), Ashley (Garrett), John, and Jessica (Hart) and eight great - grandchildren: Farrah, Stetson, Hudson, Lily, Beau, Scarlett, Georgianna and Alana, and her dog Charlie.
Diana will be fondly remembered for over 30 years of dedicated volunteer service with the Whittier Police Department. She also worked faithfully as an optician for Dr. Shammas for more than three decades. Diana had a deep passion for cruising, knitting, and traveling—especially RV trips with Raymond and their loyal dog Charlie, visits to family in Indiana, and getaways to Solvang. She cherished shopping and spending time with her loved ones, creating lasting memories along the way.
