Danielle Marie Herrera was born in Los Angeles, California, on January 16, 1984, to Richard and Jeanette (Contreras) Herrera. She passed away in Sherman Oaks, California, on September 7, 2018, at the age of 34.
Dani, as she was affectionately known, grew up in Alhambra, California. She had two older brothers, Michael and Ricky, and a younger sister, Julia. She attended St. Therese Carmelite Elementary School and Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy. She continued her education, receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and a Master of Arts Degree in Organizational Psychology from Alliant International University. Following graduation, Danielle began her career as a Human Resources Specialist.
Recently, Dani put her career on hold to plan her wedding. She was to be married on October 19, 2018, to Parker Yelton. Danielle looked forward to it with great anticipation and worked tirelessly on her wedding plans.
An animal lover to the core, Dani was a devout vegan and animal rights activist. She enjoyed hot yoga and was interested in becoming a yoga instructor. In her youth, Danielle enjoyed dancing, softball, and cheerleading.
Dani will be remembered for her ability to light up the room. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed being with them. She also liked meeting new people and always met them with a friendly smile. She touched the lives of many, and she will be greatly missed.
Loved ones surviving Danielle include her parents, Richard and Jeanette Herrera; brothers, Michael and Richard C. Herrera; sister, Julia Herrera; nieces, Sophia and Madison Herrera; grandmother, Susana Herrera; and her fianc, Parker Yelton.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 Philadelphia St., Whittier, California. In lieu of flowers, friends may, if they wish, donate in her memory to an animal shelter or animal rights advocacy organization.
