Curtis Eugene Kidwell

Curtis Eugene 'Gene' Kidwell, Sr., was born October 31, 1924 in Iowa to David Roland (Sr.) and Lena Finley Kidwell. On June 9, 1951, Gene married Fern Louise Hambsch. They enjoyed nearly 60 years together and raised seven children.Gene spent his professional career as a turbine machinist for General Electric for 32 years. He enjoyed golf, crossword puzzles, and sudoku, and he was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church in Whittier.Mr. Kidwell is survived by his wife, Fern; children, Curtis, Karla, Susan, Mary, Lynne, Leigh, and Steven; brother, Larry; 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.Viewing will take place from 5:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, January 20, 2011 with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 pm at White Emerson Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am the following morning, January 21st at St. Bruno's Church, 15700 Citrustree Road, Whittier, California. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Rowland Heights, California.
