Dr. Cheng Lu, a distinguished individual who excelled in both the corporate world and academia, passed away on May 10, 2024, in Azusa, California. He was born on March 5, 1960, in Haimen Jiangsu, China.

Dr. Lu's legacy is marked by his remarkable career achievements and academic contributions. He was one of the founders of the East West Logistics Inc. and served as the Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of East West Logitic Inc. from 1997 to March 2024, where his strategic vision and financial acumen played a pivotal role in the company's success Prior to his tenure at East West Logitic Inc., Dr. Lu shared his expertise as a Professor at Loyola Marymount University from 1994 to 1997, inspiring countless students with his passion for economics and international development.
 
 His pursuit of knowledge was evident through his educational journey. Dr. Lu attended Nanjing University at age of 17, where he majored in economics and world geography.
After graduating from university, he obtained a master's degree and continued his studies under the guidance of the renowned Chinese geographer, Professor Xudan Li. After graduating from graduate school, he worked as a teacher in the school of geography and ocean science at Nanjing University.

In 1989, he was awarded the Ford Foundation Fellowship to pursue a doctoral degree in the United States. He furthered his academic pursuits by earning a Ph.D. from UCLA between 1989 and 1995, focusing on global resource management and international economic development.
 
 Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Lu found joy in various hobbies and interests. An avid golfer and gourmet enthusiast, aslo passionate about gardening, he savored the finer things in life. His keen interest in international politics and cross-strait relations exemplified his intellectual curiosity and commitment to understanding complex global dynamics between Mainland China and Taiwan.
 
 Dr. Cheng Lu is survived by his loving family members: his devoted spouse, Queeny Ying Nam; cherished daughters, Jasmine Yungching Luk and Tiffany Yungting Luk; supportive brother, Bin Huang; and caring mother, JieQin Zhang. In their time of grief, may they find solace in the memories they shared with Dr. Lu and the lasting impact he made on those around him.
