Cecelia Glorud

Cecelia Alvares Glorud was born July 15, 1926, in Whittier, CA. She passed on December 24, 2025. She was 99 years old

Cece, as her friends called her, graduated from Whittier Union High School in 1944. She began working right after graduating for an insurance firm in downtown Los Angeles. She worked there from 1944 until 1949. In 1949, she began working for the State of California as Secretary to the Business Manager as Fred C. Nelles School for Boys (as it was called at that time).

Cece met her husband, Carl A. Glorud, at Fred C. Nelles. They were together for 13 years prior to saying ‘I do’ in 1973. They moved to La Habra, CA.

They never had children of their own, but Cece raised me (Linda (Sanchez) Barreda). I lived with Cece and her mother for over 20 years.

Cece and Carl loved traveling. They went to Canada, Mexico, London, Switzerland, Ireland, Norway, Italy, just to name a few places

She lost Carl in 2004.

Now, they are together again. RIP Nina (Cecelia) and Carl, you’ll be missed by many
