Carol Lydia Angelo Najera, 49, passed away at her home in Pico Rivera, CA on February 17, 2022 after a faithful battle with cancer.
Born in Bellflower, CA on April 20, 1972, Carol was born to her parents, Daniel & Lydia Angelo. Carol was married to her husband of nearly 20 years, Matthew Najera, on October 12, 2022 at the San Gabriel Mission Catholic Church in San Gabriel. Together with Matthew, she had one daughter, Ashley, who was the pride and joy of her life. Carol was so full of life and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Carol spent her growing up years in Pico Rivera, but would always say she was from "East Los Angeles," as that was where her grandma's house was. During her elementary years, she attended St. John's Lutheran School in Montebello before attending and graduating from St. Paul High School in Santa Fe Springs (class of '90). She got her first job at Clearman's Steak 'N Stein and worked there all through high school. She went on to attend Rio Hondo College and worked as an Office Manager for a corrugated boxing company for 15 years.
As mentioned, her daughter, Ashley, was her pride and joy. Carol spent countless hours volunteering to work for every school event, including working on the "party-planning" committee with the PTA. She was also a faithful "team mom" at all of Ashley's sporting events. She loved spending time with her daughter and knew that there was no better investment of her time.
Carol is survived by her husband; Matthew Najera, her daughter; Ashley Najera, her parents; Daniel & Lydia Angelo, her dog; Prince Najera, and countless family and friends who loved her dearly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 9am at the San Gabriel Mission Church. Interment will follow the Mass at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Rosemead.
