Bruce A. Larson

Bruce A. Larson was born March 1, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to Ralph Alvin Larson and Hester Eulalia (Fulton) Larson. He passed away on April 29, 2011 in Whittier, California.'Swede' grew up in Southern Illinois, where he attended Murphsboro Elementary and High School.He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force with two (2) tours of duty in Vietnam.On New Year's Eve, December 31, 1966, he married Rose M. Aguilar at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Pasadena, California.'Swede' worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for over 35 years.His hobbies included politics, history, sports, music, and reading. 'Swede' also loved to be with his children and grandchildren.He was also an active member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church and the Rosary Club.Mr. Larson is survived by his wife, Rose A. Larson; daughters: Lisa Larson, Ann Marie Virnala, Pamela Kang, Priscilla Tang, Bernadette Larson, Adrianna Larson, Leatriz Larson, and sons: Eric Larson and Sean Larson; along with 18 grandchildren and one (1) great grandchild.Viewing will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011 at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 E Philadelphia Street, Whittier, California, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.A memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 14020 Foster Road, La Mirada, California, at 10:00 a.m.Burial will take place at Riverside National Cemetery, 2249 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, California on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.
