Anthony Joseph
Blas
Apr 8, 2008 — Sep 12, 2026
Whittier, CA
Anthony Joseph Blas, of Whittier, California, passed away on September 12, 2026. He was born on April 8, 2008, in Anaheim, California, and in his 18 years brought joy, laughter, and deep love to the people fortunate enough to know him.
Anthony was a young man whose presence made an impression. He was loving, outgoing, funny, intelligent, and articulate, with a goofy personality that made others laugh easily. Loyal to his family and friends, he was a protector of those he loved and someone who always showed up for others. He was dependable, charismatic, athletic, hardworking, and a quick learner, with a can-do attitude that carried him through every part of life. He met the world with energy, warmth, and heart.
His interests reflected the enthusiasm with which he lived. Anthony loved football, soccer, Disneyland, gaming with friends, Harry Potter, and anime. He found happiness in the things that sparked imagination, fun, and connection, and those passions became part of the memories his loved ones will forever carry with them.
Anthony’s life was marked by dedication and promise. He attended Scott Elementary, Granada Middle School, and Los Altos High School, where he was an AVID member. He passed as a freshman at California State University, Fullerton, where he had already declared his major in business. During the summer of 2026, he worked his first official job with the City of Whittier Parks & Recreation Department as a Recreation Specialist. Alongside his studies and work, Anthony also carried a dream of becoming a history teacher in the future and a football coach, a calling that reflected both his intelligence and his love for the game.
Above all, Anthony will be remembered for the love he gave so freely and the bright spirit he shared with everyone around him. He is survived by his father, Daniel Blas; by his mother, Linda Arroyo-Blas; and his twin brother, Daniel Blas. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandfathers, Robert Arroyo and Gil Rivera (deceased); his grandmothers, Angelina Marcano, Mercy Arroyo, and Carmen Rivera (deceased); his uncles, Brandon Rodriguez, Johnny Blas, Edwin Blas, and Javier Blas; and his aunts, Helen Arroyo, Madeline Opet, Betty Sandoval, and Erin Rodriguez; and his many cousins. Each of them carries forward the memory of a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and loved one whose life, though far too brief, was filled with meaning, laughter, and love.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Morningstar Christian Chapel, 16241 Leffingwell Rd, Whittier, CA 90603. The Blas family requests that those in attendance please wear purple (Anthony's favorite color) in honor of him.
Anthony Joseph Blas will be deeply missed and forever cherished. His family and friends will remember his smile, his humor, his loyalty, and the way he made people feel seen, protected, and loved. His memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the Blas family has requested that those who knew Anthony consider a donation to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, 380 Knollwood St., STE H 125, Winston-Salem, NC 27103-1884.
