Alice "Honey" Felix

Maria Alice Felix, affectionately known as “Honey” was born daughter to Philip and Mary Flores Tovar, the eldest of eight children, on November 23rd, 1929. She entered eternal life on January 29th, 2023, shortly after celebrating her 93rd birthday.

Honey and Cruz were married in 1950 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Los Angeles, and happily raised their four children amongst the orange groves in Hacienda Heights, Ca. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, aunt, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Greatly loved by all those who knew her, Honey enjoyed celebrating birthdays and holidays with her family. She warmly recalled how She loved to drive her mother Mary anywhere she wanted to go and would often say, “We were mother and daughter, but Mom was my best friend”.  She was a beautiful, generous, gracious and compassionate woman who would always bless you with holy water and the sign of the cross.  She adored spending time at home with her grand and great grandchildren and admired her sweet classic pink roses just outside her bedroom window. She was a woman of deep faith and had a great love for “Our Blessed Mother”.

As parishioner for 56 years, Alice served St. John Vianney Catholic Parish as a Special Minister of the Holy Eucharist. Entrusting her to provide Communion to the sick and the homebound.  She made many friends, devoted her time to the Church and enjoyed helping people within the community. With such a kind, giving and loving heart, our mother “Honey” was our angel, and she will be greatly missed.
