Yvonne Negrete

Yvonne Negrete, 63, passed away at her home in La Mirada, California on November 23, 2014. Yvonne was born on January 29, 1951 in Los Angeles, California to Raul and Ruby Borja. She grew up on Kearney Street with her two sisters, Abby and Yolanda.



On December 16, 1989, Yvonne married her soul mate and best friend, Frank Negrete.



Professionally, Yvonne worked as a day care licensor for the state of California for 35 years. Outside of work, Yvonne had many interests. She loved and was quite an avid traveler. She also enjoyed collecting jewelry, arts and crafts and shopping for a bargain. She lived in La Mirada and was involved at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church. She loved to cozy up at her home with her dog Ozzy and watch her hummingbirds. Mostly, she loved her friends and family fiercely.



On November 23, 2014, Yvonne passed away after a difficult battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank, her daughter Laura Gil-Trejo, her grandchildren Aaron and Imma Trejo, and her new extended family of a son-in-law, Carl Wendt and his three children.



The viewing will be held at White Emerson Mortuary on Monday, December 1, 2014 beginning at 5:00PM and the Vigil service will be said at 7:00PM. The Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 10:00AM at St. Paul of the Cross Church in La Mirada, California with a reception to follow.
