Thomas R. Young was born on August 7,1952 in Kearney, Nebraska to Carl R. and Mary C. Young. He grew up in Pico Rivera, California, and attended St. Hilary Catholic School. He went on to Cantwell High School for one year and graduated from El Rancho High School in 1970.

Tom married Valerie Nelson on October 6, 1977 and they were married 37 years. Tom was a master electrician, construction manager and master of fixing everything. His hobbies included guitar, music, collector, inspector and master of fixing everything. He was also a long time parishioner of St. Bruno Catholic Church in Whittier, California.

On July 20, 2017, Tom passed away at the age of 64. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Valerie, and children: Amy Young, Jack (Ellen), Lucy Sams (Gregg), Sheila Young and Carla Young. Siblings; Carolyn Lincavage, Judy Willis, John Young and Jim Young. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Mary Young, and brother, Douglas Young.
