Tom LaRue, 78

Tom J. LaRue was born in Oklahoma on January 21, 1932 to parents Thomas and Mable LaRue. He grew up in the towns of Crescent and Guthrie, Oklahoma.

As a young man he joined the US Navy in the rank of Pipe Fitter, Third Class.

He married his wife Shirley on March 25, 1961. Mr. LaRue lived in Whittier, California for 50 years where he owned and operated LaRue's Floor Covering.

Tom enjoyed golfing, camping with friends and family, RV traveling, and fishing. He was also a member of the Morningstar Christian Chapel in Whittier.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Cherie; and his brother, Bill LaRue. He is also survived by his grandchildren Rachel and Joshua Winfrey.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 20, 2010 at Morningstar Christian Chapel in Whittier, California. Pastor Jack Abeelen will preside. It is located at:
